Har HaBituach: how to see all your insurance policies and find what you are owed

Last reviewed: · How we check information

In short

  • Har HaBituach (הר הביטוח) is a website of the Capital Market Authority at the Ministry of Finance. It shows your policies with Israeli insurers.
  • It also shows policies you forgot about or that were arranged through your workplace.
  • It is free to use.
  • After an illness, accident or loss of working capacity, check here which policies may pay.

What you can see

  • Types of insurance: life, health, critical illness, personal accident, long-term care, loss of working capacity, car, home and more.
  • The insurer, the policy number and the coverage period.
  • For each policy you can ask the insurer for the full terms.

Why it matters

A claim starts with knowing the policy exists. Many people do not know they have loss-of-working-capacity cover through managers' insurance, or critical illness cover bought years ago. Private insurance pays even if you receive a Bituach Leumi benefit: these are separate rights.

How to use it

  1. Go to the Ministry of Finance's Har HaBituach website and identify yourself.
  2. View your list of policies and save it.
  3. For each relevant policy, ask the insurer for the full policy terms.
  4. If something covered by a policy has happened, file a claim with the insurer.

Deadlines to know

  • For most insurance you can claim up to 3 years after the event. For life, illness and hospitalisation, and long-term care insurance taken out or renewed from 25.11.2020, up to 5 years.
  • For disability caused by illness or accident, the clock starts on the day you became entitled to claim under the policy terms.
  • The insurer must pay within 30 days of receiving all the information and documents it needs.

Other sources

  • Pension savings and the insurance inside your pension fund appear in the fund's annual statement or its personal area.
