How it is calculated

  • Daily amount: wages for the 3 full months before you stopped work divided by 90, or for 6 months divided by 180 — whichever is higher. In practice, your average monthly wage divided by 30.
  • Maximum: ₪1,752.33 a day, reached at a wage of about ₪52,570 a month.
  • Days: 105 (15 weeks) with 10 of 14 months of contributions or 15 of 22, and 56 (8 weeks) with 6 of 14. Each extra baby adds 21 or 14 days.

The amount is before income tax, Bituach Leumi and health contributions. The calculator does not include extensions for hospital stays or a baby's complex disability.

Bituach Leumi takes the higher of the 3- and 6-month averages. If your wage fell because of illness, an accident or another reason outside your control, you can ask for a different calculation with documents.

  • Tax Credit Points

    Each credit point cuts your income tax by ₪242 a month. Children, aliyah, army service, a degree — and missed points can be reclaimed for past years.

  • Tax Refund for Employees

    A refund of tax over-deducted from your salary. You can claim up to 6 years back, yourself and with no fee.
